The Wedding Checklist!
Wedding check list!
You're engaged ! First of all congratulations, now all the planning starts! You may have been one of those girls who have had their wedding planned since you were small (with a whole secret Pinterest board as well ) or you may have no idea where to start, let us help you with a few important things you need to check off and when you should do them.
First things first you need to talk with your other half about what you both want from your wedding, this is a good time to talk about what kind of budget you want to set yourselves!
Set up a Pinterest board (if you havernt already got one) these are great for inspiration!
Choose your wedding party.
12 months to go..
Look at all possible venues and check their availability for the time of year you would like.
Set the date
Send out save the date cards.
Book your registrar or church.
Sort your wedding license.
Look into wedding insurance.
Research wedding suppliers if your chosen venue does not offer packages they may have preferred suppliers.
Book some wedding dress appointments (the fun part!)
Write a guest list.
11 months to go..
Book a wedding planner if you would like one.
Look into honeymoon options.
Book your photographer. Also your videographer if you'd like to have one.
Book your Dj or Band.
Research/ book your florist.
Research what kind of cake you want.(tastings are a good day!)
9 months to go..
Order your wedding dress! (If you have not done so yet)
Start shopping for bridesmaid dresses especially if you have a few girls to dress!
Register for gifts if you would like them from certain places or shops.
Book a trail for your hair and make up.
If you need suits this is a good time to look into them.
6 months to go..
Confirm catering and suppliers.
Send out invites. Include any useful information for your guests, such as hotels near by, dress code if you have one, parking or transport.
Book wedding cars and other transport.
Research and book any decor you would like. Such as chair covers, centre pieces or photo booths.
Choose your wedding music and readings.
4 months to go..
Buy underwear and shoes ready for your dress fitting.
Buy wedding rings
Look into buying any accessories you'd like.
Start to plan the hen and stag do's.
Arrange for any vaccinations you may need for your honeymoon.
6-8 weeks to go..
Arrange your dress fittings ( don't forget your underwear and shoes!)
Finalise music, readings and order of service.
Meet with your photographer to finalise or to have a pre wedding photo shoot!
Chase all who have not rsvp'd
Finalise seating plan.
Have your hen and stag do's.
Arrange to pick up any hired suits or table decor.
3 weeks to go..
Write any speeches/ vows.
Arrange a wedding rehearsal (so everyone knows where to stand !)
Arrange a date to pick up your wedding dress and bridesmaids.
1 week to go..
Have your hair cut/ coloured. We want it looking it's best on the day!
Have the wedding rehearsal.
Pack for your honeymoon.
Wear in your wedding shoes.
Pick up your wedding dress.
Create a wedding emergency kit. Include make up, lipstick, tissues, sewing kit. Any thing you might need or forgot the morning of!
Find your 'something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue'
Have any beauty treatments, eye lash extensions, manicure and pedicure, fake tan.
The day before!
Have a day off! Don't go into work, have a relaxing day with your family and friends.
Double check all bags and you have everything you need.
Try to get an early night, you're getting married in the morning.
Try to remember ..
On your wedding day, it might be the end of your planning but it's the start of a beautiful new marriage! Try to take a few minutes during your day to just look around and appreciate everything you've put into the day and enjoy it! It will go by so quickly, take some time alone with your other half without everyone else, be proud of what you've achieved and how you've come.
